If you go via howqua track, which comes off the mt buller rd, its fine. Lots of caravans, horse floats etc go there without trouble. It gets extremely busy on long weekends, and I mean BUSY!! You need to take in firewood too, if you want a campfire.

The Coopers Creek Track runs off Rawson Tyres Road or Walhalla Road. There are actually two camp grounds beside the Thomson River. There are long drops and some picnic tables. There is also a boat ramp or can use the crossing for 4wd. The area has lots to see with Bruntons Bridge close by, as well as Walhalla and the horseshoe tunnel. The second camp ground has a large flat area perfect for camper trailers. Need to get in early on public holiday weekends as is quite a popular spot as close to Moe.

It is at end of walking track from Furnell. The camp site has a boat ramp and two camp sites. It also has a picnic table and long drop. Really pretty spot on the waters edge. Excessable by car. Not a huge spot. If camp sites are taken the next closet larger camp ground is at Tamboon

The road to the crossing is 4wd. To get there the closet towns are Heyfield and Newry. Search Horstmans Lane, Maffra West Upper in your GPS. Follow road through to Kentucky Road, Monomak. Once in the reserve turn down Green Hill Road and follow to Huggetts Lookout , keep going past lookout to crossing. Camp group has approx 20 camping spots.

However the river does run fast during the winter. The bridge is only for walking.
